November has been a busy month for James Short Memorial! Thank you to the families that took the time to come to Parent/Teacher conferences.

Task Design: Three Little Pigs Count to 100.
We have been exploring 'Three Little Pigs Count to 100' by Grace Maccarone. We have been representing numbers in a variety of ways including using the images from this story as a counting tool. Students took this counting strategy, and used it as part of our classroom number line.

As part of our task design, students created a replica of the setting of the 'Three Little Pigs' story. Students were tasked with creating the setting with certain components including: Creating the setting in correct order, incorporating 2D and 3D shapes, and three different patterns. Students were asked to assess their own work through our 'I-can' checklist.

WINTER MUSICAL – THE BIG CHILL!

The Weather Reporter promises a BIG snowstorm is on its way to JAMES SHORT MEMORIAL!  How great it would be to have a snow day.  We could play in the snow, go skating, watch soaps on the TV or YouTube!  Teachers and Students in the play discover they are not so different after all!

Students of JAMES SHORT MEMORIAL have been working hard learning lines, lyrics and choreography! 

Our 30-minute Musical will prove to be a performance of fun and laughter!  Please come and see all of our hard work!  Every voice counts!

Final Rehearsal Thursday 11:00 am (guests welcome) and SHOWTIME 6:00 pm

Please have your child at the school by 5:40 pm.  No costumes required.  Students may wear clothes that make them look like a teacher, a student, or their most sparkly / handsome outfit.  Parents will be let into the gym by 5:50 pm.
